Huh. Now that you mention it, I see it. It just really stands out with the golden topminnow. I looked at it for 10 minutes before I posted. I honestly thought you inverted and flipped it or something.

Yeah, DLV....The dude is just that good. The problem is, you can't take your daguerreotype underwater and you're jealous.

That is wild. So it isn't really a mirror image with surface reflection? Something else is coming into play? Or am I missing something entirely?

Edit. Ok. Mirror image. The fish just seems so balanced that the fish and reflection both look upright.

Maybe you should buy a print so you can study at your leisure?

I just might. We have started a decent collection already.

Sorry, Im having a little trouble understanding your confusion, but yes, the top fish is a reflected mirror image of the bottom (real) fish. The surface of the water acts like a mirror, reflecting (creating a mirror image of) any objects that are close to it. The top fish is in fact upside down (mirrored).

Naw I got it. The fish is just so symmetrical that it almost doesn't look upside down in the reflection. I know you don't alter the fish itself, but initially thought you might have mirrored it for effect.
