Anyone out there familiar with this strain of Brook trout from Quebec?
Just wondering if eggs are available for private hatcheries? Seems that most work in the North East and Mid West is done for state agencies or what not.
Many have crossed the Temiscimies with them, but it would appear ( at least in remote ponds anyway, which is my interest ) that they just don't live long enough or get to a certain size and that's it.
Don't see much ( maybe the 70s? IDK ) or hear anything about non hybridized strains of the Assinica's.
I wonder if they are more Char-like and require deeper a little bit cooler waters?
Thanks for any insight on these fabulous fish.
