I am going to be at Warren Dunes in MI this coming weekend and wondered if there are good places to sample and/or fly fish in that area?

My wife and I have collected in southwestern Michigan but not for 20 years or so. Because I do not have recent information, I waited for others to respond, but that apparently is not going to happen.

She grew up near Plainwell, MI, and there are many spring-fed streams in Allegan County that typically have numerous northern red-bellied dace, brook trout, and other small fish.

We have collected in the Gun Lake inlets successfully, but I no longer remember the species collected. They have excellent habitat for small fish. Yankee Springs Recreation Area on the shore of Gun Lake has unusual habitat including pitcher plants growing in the bogs there.

Blacknose dace is not in fish base for this watershed.  This fish has a sharper nose as well.
