While the event as advertised as "boats, bands and brews" it is also a great opportunity for NANFA to do some outreach with people that are already thinking about the river... and the live music...

This year we had a prime location on the main entry walkway to set up our aquarium and talk fish to those that showed any interest.

and we did the outreach thing with the next generation.

And this guy was so excited about his copy of AC that he just plopped down on the sidewalk and dove into it.

I thought about coming to this event (even with my antisocial tendencies) but had a prior commitment. I hope you had enough helpers. Thank you for adding me to the GA list. Maybe I will be able to join an excursion one of these days.

Yes, we had Keith and Bryson and Camm and his son Ken. So enough to seine (more are always welcome, we catch more species if we can cover more habitat). And a couple of existing members stopped by as well just to talk fish (which is kinda the whole point).

I stole it out of Kith Hudgin's garage, cause he was committing the sin of having an unfilled aquarium (like if you have a container that hold water and you dont have fish in it it makes me twitchy, he didnt even have water in it... shameful), so I am not positive, but I think it is a standard 20 long!  I fill it with treated water from my house... and I use two five gallon buckets and a 6 gallon plastic water can (like you use for camping)... and they are all over filled... and the aquarium looks mostly full, like you see in the picture.
