Bros, this post is mostly the result of fish boredom.  Been mired in a period of unprecedented fish inactivity.

If you only had this one pic to go by, would you classify this as a Yellow Bullhead, with the fish looking quite yellow and the barbels not real dark colored? Or 100% Brown Bull?

I think it's a brown.

Chin barbels are not predominantly whitish, fish color pattern is somewhat mottled. Even adult yellows I catch here in western KY have more white on their chin barbels than this fish.

Also though not the best pic for this, the anal fin ray count on this fish is likely less than 24, with yellows it's 24-28.

I messed with this a bit last night. Ray count makes it a black if I was counting right. I really don't know.

I think anal ray count of black and brown bullhead overlap quite a bit. Gill raker differences can put the issue to rest if other features don't from what I've read.

Brown is what I think as well. The mottling did it for me, until I tried counting the rays, which couldn't be accurate from the photo. But still would be closer to black. Then there is that tail, which is kind of forky. It's a brown.

It's a brown, quality ID work bros.  If I only had this pic, I would've been lobbying hard for the yellow ID for sure lol but this other pic below shows the brownness of this creature
