I'm going to Be fishing Toho in a few weeks and wanted to stop somewhere to collect some Pickerel on my final day in Florida. One would think that shouldn't be an issue in a swamp filled with redfin. At the same time I've never been there and with such a huge area might not be the best place to go with only a half day to search. I thought I would kayak in and try and catch some redfin born last year on a small rod and reel set up. Or Would I be better off stopping in some areas around Charleston or Savannah? I Have 14ft jon boat with outboard and trolling motor as well as kayak. If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it. Thanks

I dont remember the exact location, but near Waycross, GA you can google map search for 12 Mile Post Road...

and read this thread here on the forum... I know we caught redfin at a spot that I thought was on the 12 Mile Post Road?

I was reading the post you sent me. where on the map were you when referred to renting a boat? I thought you could only use trolling motors inside the park.

We didn't rent boats in 2012... we did in 2003... read more here...

it was at Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, East entrance, Chesser & Grand Prairies and those boats came with small moters (bigger than trolling, but less than 10 hp... might be different now.

Ah, memories. They come back much better when aided by such wonderful write-ups.
