Hi I am located in Massachusetts and I am planning on going on a collecting trip in 1-2 months. My main focus is to collect different species Pygmy sunfish. I will most likely go to Florida. I was wondering if anyone can share locations where I can find Pygmy sunfish. Thank you in advanced.

E. zonatum is pretty common in swamp streams in Johnston County NC: Buffalo Creek, Black Creek, Hannah Creek, Stone Creek, and Johnson Swamp. That would be half-way on your trip to FL.  You can collect non-game fish with dipnets and seines with a NC fishing license.  Non-resident 10-day license is $18:  https://www.ncwildli...apping-Licenses

Thank you Gerald, I will definitely be making a pit stop to try and collect these fish. Any specific locations that I can put on my gps will be greatly appreciated.
