I have Comcast Xfinity OnDemand and last night i found and watched on the National Geographic channel an hour episode about the Great Smoky Mountains. This episode is one in a series of about 10 on our National Parks.
I recommend a viewing of this particular one.
Of course it starts with a Mama Bear and her 2 cubs coming out of hibernation, but look at this list of other nice things...
Flowers: Mayapples, Fire Pink, Lady Slippers, Turk Caps, Aster, Witchhazel.
Turkeys, Timber Rattlers, Elk, Fox. Bobcat. Deer Mice.
But of most interest to NANFans... Hellbenders, Mussel Lures, River Chub Mounds, Colored up Shiners and Minnows.
All featuring impressive videography techniques... Time lapse, slow motion, panoramic sweeps, closeups, night vision, underwater, sky drones.
The documentary follows the seasons from Winter to a colorful Autumn back to an icy Winter..
At the end i noted in the credits a German videographer i met while working with FWI. Also credited were CFI along with my old snorkel boss Jim Herrig. Dated 2015.
Always good to see what we enjoy... celebrated on television.
