Bluntnose Minnow?

Just need confirmation that it is not a Fathead and indeed a Bluntnose. Thanks so much! Caught in a coldwater stream in Ontario, Canada.

Your fish has a complete lateral line. I would call it a bluntnose. Are they both supposed to be present in this drainage?

Body shape and patterning also more c/w bluntnose than fathead (which tend to be a bit stockier in my experience).

The complete lateral line was what had me pretty certain on Bluntnose too. Both are present, yes.

 

 

Body shape and patterning also more c/w bluntnose than fathead (which tend to be a bit stockier in my experience).

My bluntnose comes from pressing it against aquarium glass at the Newport Ky aquarium! :biggrin:
