Hi,
My name is Jim Davie, I was a member of NANFA way back when.. I live in the Finger Lakes Region of New York. I have been in the fish hobby for 40 years.
I have enjoyed collecting rainbow, greenbanded, johnny, longneck darters, still looking for blueside and some others ... some day want to collect some tangerines..most of the collecting has been in Western and Central New York around Rochester and a bit east and south of there.
I have collected a bunch of dace, stone rollers etc. sculpins and tried my hand at breeding. Some efforts were successful some not..
I used to own a fish business , I imported and bred African Cichlids,I operated 112 tanks , I closed the business about 2 years ago or so.
After I closed the business I went to the dark side and I now only have reef tanks 2 of them. It is good to have found this web site.

Welcome, it's great to see so many NY fish nuts. Sounds like you did a lot of collecting around my old area Rochester /Finger lakes area now in Schenectady area. When were you in NANFA? I was in NANFA in the 80's out for a while then back several yrs ago. I'd hate to think there was another fish nut back then and we never connected.

Welcome back Jim.
As far as outings go, I would like to get something together. Norm Soule and I tried to put something together last year at Alleghany SP and had to cancel due to severe rains and high water. I will send Norm an email to get him in the loop, as I don't think he checks the forum.
We should get another thread going in the East section on some locales that would be of interest. I would like to just get together for the sake of getting together and meeting people, even hit some spots in CNY. I grew up in North Syracuse and know a few spots.
I will provide this standing offer, I live just northeast of Buffalo, if anyone wants to make a road trip out this way at any time you are always welcome to stay at my house. Only one guest room, but plenty of yard for tenting.
