Is there no hope? Will I have to deal with it in every bullhead I catch?

The short answer is, yes. Clinostomum can live up to 4 years in a fish. I suppose you could try dosing your fish food with some antihelminthic, but really that just might leave a bunch DEAD, rotting grubs in fish' flesh, which would not necessarily be a good thing if they all died at once.

It worked! I bought some stuff that was for parasites and used it on them. Then the little bullhead decided to go and die on me. The bass kept picking it up and spitting it out and snudging it until the other bullheads (My younger brother caught another one in a drainage ditch near his friend's house on some white bread. Also caught some sort of big minnows that the bass appreciated later that night!) began EATING their dead comrade . Are bullheads commonly cannibals? I fed them a lot of food: Pellets, flakes, earthworms, bugs of many species, etc.

From what Ive read and discovered in my years of keeping aquariums is that a dead fish makes an easy meal. Its also natures way of getting rid of the body. You want to get a dead body out of an aquarium as soon as possible before it starts decomposing and releases chemicals such as amonia.
