Caught this on the Elk River last July. I'm Thinking Wedgespot shiner, but I'm not sure.

Among other things, I think this is too big to be a Wedgespot Shiner (max length around 3 inches). The relatively large size, deep body, large mouth, and large scales (that are taller than they are wide) lead me to think that this is a Luxilus species. I think Cardinal Shiner is the only Luxilus species in the Elk watershed, so that would be my guess.
