I've had this chubsucker for about 2 years now and he(the tubercles let me know it's a he) seems pretty healthy for the most part. About 2 months ago he developed some red coloration on his underside. I'ts pretty difficult to see but it looks like the start of an ulcer or red spot disease. I've used melafix, salt, general cure. It never gets worse and never goes away. the other fish in the tank are thriving. Should I be concerned? Any suggestions?

Could you attach some photos? Because without photographs it's pretty hard to judge what it is. I would recommend you watch this video, maybe it will be useful

No way to really get a photo without taking him out of the tank - it's very difficult to see the spot. I think it must not be anything too bad, the fish is still doing fine. Thank you for the video - it has some really useful information.

Any changes? I think if the coloration is still there, you could send us a video, cause it might be hard to make a photo of it. Anyway I hope it got better by now.

I haven't been checking for the spot lately. He still seems fine though, and there are no signs of stress that I can see. There's pretty much no way to get a good video of it easily; the spot is pretty faint and on his belly and this species of fish mostly stays on the bottom. I'm starting to wonder if it is a disease at all or just some sort of pigment thing that's not harmful.
