Is anyone doing the ice worms this year?

You can’t culture ice worms unless you have a population of lake midges near you. They produce larvae by laying eggs in water just like mosquitos. You’d need to create a small pond for them to breed in but you’ll probably get more mosquitos and bloodworms than ice worms. But I did have some on top of my swimming pool cover this spring along with tons of cyclops & bloodworms which were probably seeded by the the ducks that liked to swim in it. Your best bet is to look for glassworms in shaded fishless pools in the woods somewhere that also contain daphnia.
