This year's NANFA Conservation Research Grant proposal review committee participants were Bruce Lilyea, Derek Wheaton and Michael Wolfe. This year we selected the proposal by Jessica Diallo from the University of Washington. The research questions for the selected study are: “(1) Which removal methods are most effective in reducing green sunfish local abundance and spatial extent? (2) How do native fish populations respond to invasive removal in abundance and individual growth? (3) Does food web structure recover to its pre-invasion state after invasive removal?”. More details about this study will be shared in an upcoming edition of American Currents (a NANFA publication).
Thank you to all who participate in this year’s Conservation Research Grant process, especially all of the applicants. Please join me in congratulating Jessica!
