I had the opportunity to go collecting in an unnamed tributary of Eagle Creek in southern Lyon County Kansas yesterday, collecting was decent, but species diversity is really low (possibly due to a feedlot on the bank upstream), with only three species seen (Campostoma anomalum, Gambusia affinis, and Etheostoma spectabile). I ended up keeping 3 Stonerollers, 4 Orangethroat Darters, and a small group of Mosquitofish for my tanks.

Yeah, that feedlot could do it with all of the manure and chems washing into the watershed. Love the darters!
