Hey everyone, I collected about 8 banded pygmy sunfish from a swamp near augusta GA about a month ago. The tank is 10 gallons and heavily planted. The fish are about 3/4 inch long and eating live bbs. The only other fish in the tank is a tiny little swampfish I collected when I got the pygmies. They have yet to breed and ive yet to see courting behavior. I see them do territorial displays but thats it. Am I just being impatient or am I doing something wrong. I would love to see them breed. Thanks

yes, you are being impatient... a month is not that long to settle in... and if they are only 3/4 inch they are not really fully grown... bandeds are the big pygmies... adults can be an inch and a half... so maybe they will eventually show more breeding like behaviour when they get bigger. I have had them live for a couple of years or more, so you have time.
