Been a while since I checked in with my NANFA pals. Lauren and I have completed our move across the country back to my home state of Louisiana, upon which we then just completed our home purchase. So now we'll be moving again! All of this coincides with me accepting a new job with Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries in their Fisheries Outreach Department after a decade of the mobile fish exhibit in California. Lauren and I look forward to being a lot closer to several of our closet NANFA friends and being able to attend more non-convention trips!

 

From a professional standpoint, this means I will have to withdraw from being the NAFA stat rep for California, but I look forward to exploring opportunities to combine NANFA's goals with that of the new fisheries outreach program I am now part of.

I'm working out of the main Baton Rouge Office, and our house is in a little town near there called St. Gabriel. I'm near some nice Mississippi River access. So, I'm looking forward to some big river fishing!

I thought I saw some stuff on other social media about you "leaving the mobile fish trailer" but I wasn't positive.  Glad to have you in the south with us!  I notice (looking into my most recent AC) that we do not have a Regional Rep in Louisiana... hmmmm.... and haven't had a convention there in this century.

Given that I'll be in Fisheries outreach, I would definitely be interested in being the Louisiana rep. As for a convention, I have a few ideas and resources. Let me see what I can muster up. I actually tried changing my screen name but couldn't find the option under profile edit. Any ideas?

I regret not finding some water to get in when I was in Lafayette for nearly a month.
