I currently have three young (roughly 3-4") central stonerollers in a 40 breeder community tank. Since the tank is not heated, and in the basement, the temperature dropped to 50°F. Suddenly there's now a roughly 6-7" pit in the sand substrate. What's the likelihood that my stonerollers just built a nest? There shouldn't be anything else digging in there that I can think of.
Thanks for any insight anyone can provide.

Thanks, Good to know. I don't have the space to mess with it currently (plus I think the male may have already abandoned the nest), but I might try next year.
