Hey Kevin, I've been away from the forum for a couple years but glad I came back. Love your tank builds.

Well, although I have stuff to do to complete my system, the important part is done.  My 100 gallon Chesapeake Bay Oyster Reef Biotope Aquarium is up and running, and almost fully stocked (I still have fish in QT for another week).  Still, there is a lot of life in there.  I posted a stocking list so far in the YT video description.  I can't believe it.  When I go down to feed them, I can't stop watching this tank.  I'm very excited about this and it's been painful to not share because this tank has been up and running since Friday.  This has been my dream tank for a long time, and I've been working on this build since 2007.  It's finally come together.  I will post more details about it soon.  I hope you all like the video!

I'm guessing the video doesn't even do it justice.  I was still impressed.  Enjoy that unique tank.  Well worth the wait, and congrats on finishing it.

Thank you so much Nick!  You're right!  I still have a lot of behind the scenes stuff to do and install, but, the tank and sump up and working great.

 

Next up:

 

• Build a simple canopy so that I'm not blinded by spillover light.  That light is crazy bright, and that's why the Ulva is growing.- medium effort
• Finish the shadowbox background:by attaching the film to the acrylic, scour it hazy, install the lighting, and do the artwork - medium effort
• Build my water changing/salt mixing station to automate water changes - Difficult: huge effort, but at least my plumbing doesn't link so I have more confidence
• Install my  and build more oyster cultches to hide it (if I need to) - Easy
• Finish the stand by adding magnets to the doors, and inside shelving for storage of my aquarium products for this tank = medium effort
• Collect more species! - fun!

I'd love to add a spotfin butterflyfish, some feather blennies, a small hogchoker, more hermit crabs, maybe get a small striped burrfish - bye bye crabs (I will save them by moving them to the sump).

I live in the Baltimore area, where do you go to find tropical strays? I would be happy to help out if you need a second set of hands. Been following your videos on youtube and it makes me want to set up a smaller copy haha.
