Hello Everyone:

I would like to inquire if anyone can locate and capture up to a dozen madtom catfishes.  I live in Glasgow, Kentucky and am starting a new research project, but I need at least a dozen of Madtoms.  It doesn't matter what species as long as they are all the same.  Please help me find and/or collect enough Madtoms for my research project.

Thanks

James,

Just out of curiosity, what sort of research are you planning?  Also, would you need them all from the same locale or drainage?  I dont think I have ever caught a dozen all in one day or from any one stretch.

I know where you could get a bunch in Maryland, but that is many hours away from you. I guess I could potentially catch some with the help of a couple friends and send them to you if that is something which would help.

To capture 12 madtoms of any species much less the same specie will be a challenge for anyone. I was lucky to catch 2 brindled madtoms here in Ohio in one day. You might end up buying some from ( l forget the names of the online sellers) to fill in the gaps. I suggest a fun outing with friends and several seines, and even if you DON'T catch your 12 madtoms, y'all had a great day out and celebrate a good time with fun and a few beers.
Blessings.
