I am from Pennsylvania but will be going to an aquarium convention in Verndon, Virginia from 10/7 - 10/9. I would like to collect a few Dace while I'm there. Would anyone be able to help? Thank you

Do you mean Herndon? If so I can steer you in the right direction.

The only area I know of anywhere near where you're going prohibits nets and seines during trout season - which starts a little more than a week before you're going to be there. If you're good at microfishing you might be able to get some though.

I wish that I could help you this weekend but I am booked with family stuff and a Rocktober fishing trip.  I'd be happy to help you collect next summer or another time.  Where in PA are you?

I live in MD, but I'm always going to PA , Doylestown, to see my family. If we get extras next year perhaps I could meet you somewhere in between. There's a place we go a couple times a year that has tons of them.

 

They are a really cool fish to have in the aquarium. Their colors are extremely vibrant for much of the year, and they are fairly hardy and peaceful in my experience.

 

I don't think it's illegal to give fish away - does anyone here know if there would be a problem doing this?
