I currently have three pairs of rainbow darters in a ten gallon. I was wondering if anyone has some advice on how to spawn them. I also have orange throated darters so advice on either one would help.

If anyone is interested, rainbows are easy breeders. Feed them live brine, blackworms or frozen mysis. Have a mild current in tank with a gravel bottom. My tank had an undergravel filter and a hang-on back penguin job. One day I noticed a female dive into the gravel with her boyfriend on top of her. They both started quivering together and after it was over I vac’d the eggs into a small tank and raised them on live baby brine. Had at least 20 or 30 from that brood. Similar experience with Iowa darters. Watch out for hydra, they’ll wipe out the baby fish!
