Has anyone caught them in southern GA or northern Florida? I spent 8 hours searching today and never found any.

Yes sir, a few years back they were abundant at the type locality just off of inerstate 16 in south Georgia. Maybe not as close to Florida as you might want, but more than half way down our big state. Not sure if we caught them down near Waycross, I wold have to check my notes.
