I am planning to go collecting with a bunch of members of our club www.iowaaquaria.com/forum this Saturday. I am specifically interested in red shiners, red fin shiners and central stonerollers. I have collected all of these in the past but haven't found any recently.

A friend sent me this great link but I am having trouble identifying the exact streams that the fish are located in. Are any of you veteran NANFA members sharp enough to direct me to some local streams here in Scott County, Iowa that would have the fish mentioned?

Click on a specific fish. a map appears without names on the streams. When compared to other maps (on which the smallest streams are excluded confusion sets in. Here's the link: http://maps.gis.iast...iris/fishatlas/

If anyone has any of these fish for sale I'd be interested also. Thanks for the help.

Those maps are, unfortunately, of very poor resolution. It would be extremely difficult to identify exact streams, and locations on the streams, from those maps. Did you try the other resources on that web page? The fish database and the predicted fish maps look very useful and easy to use.

I wish any of these kinds of resources existed for Pennsylvania.

I confess I have not tried the other parts of the site. I am not very savvy on this type of stuff. I will try though since I have a bunch of IAA members coming tomorrow expecting me to show them where to collect the uncommon stuff. Thanks for the reply.
