I had a good interview today for a job at the local grocery store. on top of that I have about 50$ to throw around I had always wanted a darter tank but my sunfish tank was first priority. but I was wondering what I could to with about 100-120$ after my first paycheck
10 gallon costs:about what?
20 gallon costs:~50?
30 gallon costs:~70?
ugf for either costs:?
gravel:cheap probably 5-15$
biowheel:15$
What should I get to make a current? preferably a weak current so my rosy reds stay healthy enough
stand= shelf underneath my 40 gallon or basement stand
Feeder tank:
Rosy reds can be kept in a 2.5 or a 5 gallon too I'm thinking I'll get a 5 and keep it empty of gravel/ornaments and keep ghost shrimp and rosy reds in it if I have too. this would probably just have a aerator with a sponge filter on it.
This tank needs to hold several ghost shrimp and a lot of the "small" rosy reds. To last for a month. My fish get live feeders once a week and I'm feeding 3 small green sunfish and a small pumpkinseed.

I've seen 10s for $10 at Petsmart at least and I think other places as well.

Yes, but my tank didn't come with a hood; Which I should have mentioned that . I bought another 10 gallon tank with a hood for $25. Gravel here is $4 something for a bag. The bag is probably just big enough for half a 10 gallon tank.your talking about a glass rectangular tank correct?
Anyway, wouldn't the rosy reds eat the shrimp? Or do you plan on having a different tank for them?
It seems someone has bought a lot of gravel from my local department store and I have to wait for more to come in; This really sux

Why not get your own gravel, free, from the creeks? That's what I do.

I just got a bunch from the river (a day of family fun, looking for rocks for the tank ). I want some from the store for another tank. I'm going to be setting up soon, and I don't think river rocks will look good (since they're not natives)Why not get your own gravel, free, from the creeks? That's what I do.
That will make three 10 gallon tanks and one 2 and a 1/2 gallon tank.
