I'm from South Georgia and I live on a lake with many fish. I have kept cichlids now for a while but I'm getting aggravated with saving up money to buy a particular fish and I have paid for fish that were sexed wrong by "experts".

I'm curious about keeping the fish I grew up catching. I have caught (and eaten) many of the native freshwater species of fish. Some I find quite attractive. Anyway, you have a cool site here and I'm gonna start posting questions in it today. BTW, I live on a Lake so many of the fish I want I have easy access to.

I already am! Thanks. I am thinking seriously about jumping ship from cichlids to natives!

OK, yeah -the company I worked for had a store there at the time. Can't say I've ever collected there, though.

Largemouth bass, bluegills, several types of yet unidentified sunfish. I think we have Gambusia a-plenty. I did catch a yellow perch the other day. The swamps and small rivers yield the best variety and colorful fish.
