I just tried the member search and found it lacking the ability to search by location. Is there any way to add that to the search by criteria? I just found 1 member close to me by randomly reading an old post, and would like to find more.

I also would like this feature. It would be nice to be able to find members near one's home, or members near a place one is traveling to.

I agree this would be a good function. I will look into it.

It turns out this isn't easily doable. If anyone finds a way to do it, please pass it on.

Sorry, all my forums are PHPBB which has it built in, I think this is the first IP Board I have ever seen.

Yeah, we used to be phpBB but went away from it. I will keep looking and maybe put a feature request in with the developers.

Can you make location (city & state) a required field in the member profile and add location to the member list? I don't know how people who already have a profile.

Well apparently the IP.Forum Forum is an exclusive club where you can only get help if you have bought their forum.

I found this post on their forum:

http://forums.invisi...search location

The reply mentioned this forum: http://ipsbeyond.com/forums/ which is not accepting new members so I was unable to find out anything.

Edit: In that forum there is currently a topic called Custom Fields: Used For Searches? under IPSBeyond » Invision Download Manager » IDM Modding and Modifications.

Perhaps the answer is in there but I cannot read it since I have not purchased a license from IPS.
