I may be going to Plaquemines Parish in Louisiana to do some wetlands delineations the first week of September. Might have a little time to go poke around the water (for fun, not work). Would anyone be interested in meeting up or know of a good place if I had anywhere from 2 hours to a whole day to collect?

I know some spots - not in that part of the state, but up near Bogalusa. I have off a day or two (not sure) either Thursday or Friday of that week.

Don't know what species. Just looking to poke around some.

Irate - I will have to work weekdays, but I can go out in the evenings (possibly, depending on the schedule) or I can stay an extra day to have fun on Saturday. We don't really have a schedule yet. Heck, we're not even sure we are doing the work. Just a-thinkin' ahead! Hopefully will know more soon.

Will it be the weekend of the 8th and 9th? If so I will be in LUMCON in Cocodrie that weekend. I should have some time free during the week though. I spend atleast one night a week doing my research in the swamps of the upper Barataria estuary, so if you want a tour of the swamps at night let me know.

It could be that weekend. Right now, I'm waiting to hear what the plan is. We've tentatively put the first week of Sept into the calander, but we'll see.

I suppose it also depends on exactly where we will be. It looks like the roads around there are few and far between, making travel take a long time...

But a tour of the swamp would be really cool!

Looks like we're not doing that job after all. I must say I am dissapointed. Hopefully there will be other projets down there. It looks like an interesting place to go swamping.
