Does anyone have any advice on taking better pictures in the field. I was wondering if there is any essential equipment or prefered cameras. Do you use digital or 35mm? I was looking at several trip reports and the pictures are perfect how can I get mine to look like that?

You are actually in a good location. Uland (teleost) is the NANFA representative for IL-IN and has come up with a cheap way of taking good photos. If you get a chance, get out with him during the local trips and you'll see it first hand.
There is another thread, at least one, that talks about this as well.
