I'm just curious how many and who we have here from the Pacific Coast, that is, Alaska, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, and California.
A quick peek at the NANFA map will give you an idea. There ain't many of you, but your numbers are growing!

How do you get darters in California? Do you order them by mail or do you go on a collecting trip or where they actually introduced (why?) to California?Me - Southern California - Big Bear Lake
MAP: I added myself to the map, but who here is matt, tom, and jerry (from Alaska, Washington, and California)?

Unfortunately, collecting wild fish in the State of California is apparently not allowed by the State Fish & Game. First you need a fishing license, but then it still is not allowed.
It might be possible to get some sort of aquaculture permit. Here is what I heard from Fish & Game. You can call the Fisheries Branch Programs at 916-327-8840 and request some sort of aquarium or aquaculture permit. I understand there is a stiff annual fee, several hundred dollars.
