Here are pics of some fish and reptiles in our lab that were collected in the Huron River (SE MI):

Two of my favorite things...Little stinkys and big ol' gator gar..
How big is that beast of an Atractosteus now? Last pic Solomon showed me it was getting huge and thick..

I'm estimating that it's about 3' SL (including snout) now and about 5" thick. It is a beast and eats entire fillets of tilapia whole. Ron left it here temporarily when he moved out to teach at Case Western, and I'm wondering when he's coming back for it. I'm a little scared to stick my hand in there to clean the tank...
