I collected some of this yesterday while seining and Im curious if anyone knows what it is. It was submerged in a slow moving section of creek in Riley County, KS. Its possible that its not even an aquatic species, because it had been raining shortly before I arrived. It does have roots so I rubberbanded it together and stuck it in the sand in the bottom of my 120 gal. It seems to be doing fine in the water, I guess time will tell.
If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it.
Thank you

iturnrocks; Look under Pondweed (common name) or Potomogeton (scientific names). I can't see the the plant close enough to make any certain ID. Altho there are grasses that live along the banks of rivers and creeks in the midwest that do look like that....Jimjim
