Another Crayfish Id

He kicked the bucket over the weekend. :( I had to freeze him before I got time to photo it, so his colors are gone. I think it might be a type of Orconectes but I no idea. I've collect tons from this site. Its the outflow stream of the pond thats dammed controlled. It's primarily a 10 ft wide concrete channel filled with rocks and silt build up that spans between to area lakes. Thanks for the help

Looking like another Orconectes virilis to me.

Hopefully with this crayfish survey coming up this week I will be able to get pictures of specimens of O. virilis, rusticus, limosus, and obscurus and do a little comparison work. I'll certainly see tons of virilis Tuesday and Wednsday.

That was my assumption, but I know crap about idtifing species. I'll leave that to you professionals! 8-) I had a feeling he was goingt o die this winter, I've had him going on two years and it seemed like he was trying to rape any crays that he could get next to! it was kinda scary to watch actually!
