Well five months ago I was in Orlando visiting my uncle and got some time to go to a nearby pond. I caught this cool little guy and i took a pic. I was going through my pictures the other day and found it so I though I would ask to see if any of you knew what it was. I like how it has a purple tint to its side. Its not a bluegill is it? Thanks!

That's a nice little warmouth. You should've kept him.

I couldn't because we had flown and all the hype with the liquids and stuff!

Oh, that makes since. There are some beautiful warmouth here in Georgia as well as Florida. The dominant males here at my house get blue-green spangles on them. Here's a pic:

There's also some pretty nice looking bull bluegills. This guy looked better when he was alive, but still looks pretty good in this pic:

Biggest one I caught was 10" during the breeding season. My creek is swarming with bluegill, redbreast, and warmouth during the spring. Most of the ones I have caught were 6"+. Just before all of this is when the bullheads feel the need to breed, and we get some lunkers in some of the deep, sluggish parts. One night in July I saw a group of sailfin shiners spawning. I had never seen them here before, and haven't seen them since. It was really kinda cool.

Everything up in Michigan is usually so boring compared to all the cool fish down south!
