Just joined this forum and wanted to introduce myself. I live in St. Paul, Minnesota and have been keeping fish for more than 15yrs. I already have a 180gal tank with South American Cichlids, a 29gal tank with breeding Convicts, and a 10gal tank with mixed Tetras. When my Chocolate Cichlid and Uaru were big enough to move into the big tank, I decided to go native North American with my 55gal. So after some re-decorating I put in 4 Dollar Sunfish, and 6 Yellowfin Shiners. I'm still hoping for a couple of Orangespot Sunfish, but haven't had any luck tracking some down. Pretty ironic, considering they're native in Minnesota. I'm hoping to pick up a 90gal or 125gal to house what are becoming my favorite fish.....natives. I've been successful in switching these guys to Hikari Bio-Gold+ mini pellets and Omega1 flakes, with treats of frozen blood worms and brine shrimp as well. So far, so good. Anyway, just wanted to say 'Hi!'
