The fifth edition of Delaware’s Freshwater and Brackish-Water Fishes by NANFA member Maynard S. Raasch has been updated on activities, distributions, statistics, and nomenclature for 100 species.

Reviewing the third edition in 1998, AC editor Chris Scharpf wrote: "In addition to the requisite data and natural history, the authors sprinkle their accounts … with colorful facts and wry observations. We learn that a New Jersey woman charged her husband with beating her with a live eel, and that two Maryland fishermen were hospitalized with perforated intestines after swallowing the mummichogs they were using as bait. . . . Had Henry David Thoreau written an account of the fishes of Walden Pond, I imagine it would have been similar in tone and spirit to this unpretentious and charming little book."

To purchase, send $12.95 plus $2 for postage to: Delaware Nature Society, P. O. Box 700, Hockessin, DE 19707.
