Well, after finally getting rid of some extra cichlids, I decided to set this up for my cramped longear and warmouth that were in a 10 gallon. I set it up last weekend, and since they've moved their colors have intensified. I just wanted to share. BTW, most of that gravel was self-collected. Hard labor without a shovel. I'll add some more pictures in a little bit. I'm going to take some more of the other tank residents now. I know, it's pretty bare, but I'm going to trim some over-grown Elodea from another tank and put some clippings in there. I'll probably also add some Combomba and drift wood with Java fern on it.

Male longear. The reds are really coming out now in this tank.

Here are some more pics. I've gotten pictures of all of the residents except for the one really beautiful male warmouth I have. He decided to hide behind the filter. I did, however, get pictures of an odd warmouth I caught a couple months ago. He nearly starved but now I've got him back in shape.

Here's the "striped" side of the odd warmouth

And here's the "netted pattern" side of him

That little male longear is starting to color up nice. Who needs cichlids, right?

Love the warmouth, too.

Yeah. I use cichlids for sunfish food.

I can't wait 'til that little warmouth gets breeding size. I wanna find out if the pattern is a breedable gene.

I added two species of Elodea today. One is the species you can buy at PetSmart and the other is a wild species from here. I'll add some more pictures next week when it grows a bit. I'm gonna get some driftwood in there if I can find a few good pieces to put in there.

If you lived here, you could get some great pieces of driftwood for a really good price. Our Petco closed a little while ago, so all their stuff was over 50% off. The large pieces of wood were only like $2.00
Nice fish. I can't wait for my warmouth and longear to get that size and pretty.
