There are a couple nice bridge crossings with public access as you go on OH Route 306 and 95 towards Pleasent Hill Lake and beyond. That's my coverage of the area.

I've been to at least one of those.

I'm sure Scenicrivers knows that area pretty well, I also know carl is from near Wooster.

I usually start with Google when a collecting trip is coming up.

Try www.google.com
search on
"ohio nanfa creek OR river"

Try http://www.natureser...dHucs/index.jsp
for which species are in each watershed.

For hard to find fish, Look up a target species on www.fishbase.org
and then click "Occurrences".

Then hit the books.

I have a HUGE database that has all that information for Ohio. Not sure who created it but it has dates and exact location of species. So in my state I'm covered.

But for out of state, I do similar to what you do.

More to the point than natureserve would be going to the OEPA website, division of surface water, and get their biological assessment reports that area (not the TMDL's). There was published at least in the last 10 years if not sooner. They have summaries of the aquatic communities and in the appendicies list species caught, stream name, river mile all that stuff which you can use to find the site or nearby sites using various maps.

Lima and Barberton???....Now that is an interesting combination of locations. Isn't the Ottawa around Lima recovering slowly but surely, at least compared to what it was during the heyday of Lima (Dad is from there).

Thanks Tom but I have enough data/clutter. I already have every OEPA DSW report that has been online. I haven't put a net in Ohio waters in a few years anyways because I only return around the winter holidays.

I live in Orrville which is about 15 to 20 minutes from Wooster. I will PM you and we can set up a time to get out in the water. With either hook & line or net.

Last I saw they were in the middle of tranferring their data to a new database. I think they were using FoxPro and now it's something else. Dennis Mishne over there has his hands full with this.
