VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT:
Atlantic Coastal Fish Habitat Partnership Coordinator

Responsibilities: The Atlantic Coastal Fish Habitat Partnership
(ACFHP) Coordinator is responsible for effective disposition of a
complex array of duties throughout the Atlantic coast. The ACFHP
Coordinator assists the ACFHP Steering Committee and other working
groups in accomplishing partnership goals and objectives. The
Coordinator carries out the essential functions of the ACFHP at the
staff level. The incumbent is required to coordinate technical and
advisory committee meetings dealing with ACFHP issues, provide staff
support to the ACFHP, and foster partnership consensus building. The

The position of ACFHP Coordinator is based out of the Washington, D.C.
office of the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASM FC) and< travel, primarily along the Atlantic
Coast. The incumbent reports to the ASMFC Science Director, and will
work closely with the ASMFC Habitat Coordinator. Employment of the
ACFHP Coordinator is contingent upon funding being available
to support the position, and is currently guaranteed only for
2008-2009. Funding for the position may be provided through a variety
of sources, including direct contributions of ACFHP partners, grants,
or
federally appropriated funds.

Qualifications: A graduate degree in fisheries science, marine
biology, natural resources, or a related field preferred. Equivalent
experience also considered. Interdisciplinary preparation for
fisheries management, proven writing and speaking skills,
communication, coordination and interpersonal skills, and experience
with developing policy or position statements should be demonstrated.
