Ceas, P. A., and B. M. Burr. 2002. Etheostoma lawrencei, a new species of darter in the E. spectabile species complex (Percidae: subgenus Oligocephalus), from Kentucky and Tennessee. Ichthyological Exploration of Freshwaters 13:203-216.

Yeah, a lot of the Ceas work has been recent if I remember correctly off the top of my head. I'm running in and out of a teaching lab so I'm scattered at the moment.

Edit: I just saw Matt's references; what he said.

Pat Ceas emailed me in the past when I requested some reprints from him but something about the St. Olaf email always became a garbled mess when responding to a yahoo account, and I think my school acount...so I'm without prints/e-prints of either.

This thread made me realize there is a distinct lack of taxonomists outside Dave, Tom, and Ben in NANFA...and alot of us that know our fish well...so it leads to those of us that are pretending/wishing that we were answering the questions...Have we ever done a demographic survey of NANFA members? I thought there was a broad one in the past, but within the professional group and at more specific levels is what I'm wondering about.

The 1997 paper is available through JSTOR: http://www.jstor.org...448/05a00030/0; I couldn't find the text of the 2002 paper online.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I revisited the site where the first fish in this thread came from (Bear Creek, Humphreys Co., TN) and found this little guy:

If I haven't misinterpreted the information you guys gave me, this should be a member of the orangethroat darter complex, specifically Etheostoma bison, correct?
