One of my males. Even though they are not in spawning color..they seem to be maintaining their color quite well. I really like the look of them from this drainage!

That is absolutely gorgeous!

Have you considered submitting it for publication in American Currents?

That's a stunning fish! And it was thoughtful of him to pose on those complementarily-colored rocks.

You said "from this drainage"- which drainage do you mean? Just curious.

 I know, I meant which drainage did he get the fish from.

My bad I misread that. I have a killer headache, I should go to bed.

Rainbows from the great lakes drainage in general do seem to have more color than ones from further south.

Thanks guys!
Newt, the fish came from a small nameless creek that's part of the Kalamazoo River watershed. It's pretty much isolated though, as the riffle/pool habitat is upstream from a large marsh/swamp complex that the creek empties into...so I"d guess these guys have been isolated for quite some time.
I have 4 males from this stream(I won't take any more, unless it's to replace lost fish), this one is pretty representative of what they look like when they are fully relaxed and colored up.

Yup, more colorful than the ones we get in MS, even in the Spring.

That is way better than my rainbow, even though it's probably three times the size of mine. My rainbow is getting that orange on it's throat and it's fins.

I've been thinking about this, and it would be sort of cool to be "published"...
Any idea how one might go about doing that?

That's the most colorful and perfect fish picture I think I have ever seen!
