The bite of the nasty VHS bug is spreading east. VT has it on the northern and western borders. The state believes it's only a matter of time before the bug is found in the state. They are getting proactive to hopefully contain if not prevent the inevitable.
The rest of New England can't be far behind.
I heard about this on a regional fishing forum. The guys there had never heard about VHS and were quite shocked to see how severe the regs are gonna be. I took the oppurtunity to give a little speech against dumping bait buckets. Something I'm sorry to say is very prevelent. Even among fishermen who consider themselves environmentally conscience.

And I thought our initial emergency order was harsh...
You got a 120 day blanket ban on touching the water with a net and even eyeballing a "bait" fish in the wild....
Hopefully they find some way of losing or loosening that in the permanent regulations.
