I just learned o this site a few moments ago and wasted no time signing up. I'm Oddball. Named so due to the fish I maintain and, I suspect, due to lifestyle (according to family, anyway).
I maintain around 110 aquariums in a converted (pun intended) church that has become my hatchery. I raise mainly tropicals but, do have several species of natives (FL gars, Gambusia, flathead cats, LMBs, blk crappie, green sunfish, etc.). I've maintained natives on and off for the 40+ years I've been involved in this crazy mixed-up fishkeeping hobby of ours.
Anywho, I'm here to learn more about the natives we keep and look forward to offering my experiences with them.

Oh, and hey - welcome to the forum, Oddball! And welcome to the "piscene rainforest" that Mississippi is a part of.

Guess I should mention...I live near Grenada lake which is the smaller of 3 lakes in this area. It's only 14 miles by 10 miles. Further north are Sardis and Enid Lakes. There are also a handful of rivers around here including, of course, the Mississippi.
Here's a pic of my target, Procambarus sp. "Starkville"
