Here is the one I mentioned in the other post. She has a neck, and is the first "grinner" that is frowning I have seen.

Below her you can see ol' algae slime from the other post.

Beautiful Bowfins! What size tank are they in? Are they the only fish in the tank or do they have any tankmates?

These two are in a 30 gallon and they are the only two in there. Come spring they go out in the "gar river pond" and by fall I hope they are too big to fit in this tank again.

Kinda wierd maybe sounding, but bowfin are not meant to be in a tank this small for long, so that is why I hope they will grace a 75 next winter, and the next year who knows. Probably not an aquarium but an indoor pond.

Easily built with a wood frame and a liner. Now if I was brave enough to add a glass panel to one of these "hot tubs", I could have the best of both worlds.

Gorgeous bowers!! Where'd you get them at for so small? I am tryin my hardest to find some right now, but having absolutely no luckers at all. Could just go out and catch a big brute if I could find them (live in Mississippi), but I'd rather grow some out. Much more fun that way. Please lemme know where you got them and if there are any more available. Very cool fish!! :D
