I tend to agree but...I've kept tadpole madtoms at rather high salt levels (between 1 to 2 tablespoons per 5 gallons) for over two years. This winds up @ roughly.002 to .005 PPT. When I first introduced salt at 1 TBS, I found these fish negatively reacted while many other species appeared perfect. I then changed 50% of the water to reduce salt concentrations. I then kept those levels for about 4 weeks through regular water changes. I then added a little extra salt each water change until 2 TBS per 5 gallons.
The salt levels were initiated and maintained due to parasite and fungus issues on other species. I don’t want to imply these levels have been maintained for the madtoms.
