From the USPS

The following are some examples of nonmailable
birds:
a. Canaries.
b. Cockatiels.
c. Emus.
d. Finches.
e. Parakeets.
f. Parrots.
g. Adult birds, except those permitted under the conditions in DMM
C022.3.3 and C022.3.4.
Be aware that the preceding list is not all-inclusive. Generally, all types of
birds not listed in DMM C022 are nonmailable.

Sorry but I thought that was funny

That is pretty funny. I picture a box with head and legs sticking out. Did you learn anything new about fish shipping in your research?

Okay off topic enough, albeit funny. Back to the regularly scheduled programming.

Really big packing crate? They can ship cows and other livestock, I think.

Since we have a post that is sort of off topic already, I will share something awesome I saw the other day not fish related. (This sighting is a first for me, and a photo I am proud of). A bobcat, in Keene on the KSC (Keene State College) campus grounds, resting on the ice of the Ashuelot River. It sat their not caring of people walking on the nearbye bridge, Hmmm, it's on a river, maybe I can excuse this posting by calling it a catfish. :)

Sometimes we run into non-fishy things while "persuing fish" that are just too cool to not post. Very lucky shot. Good job. Now how do you ship it.

Pair of metal gauntlets, full facemask and frontal body armor, reinforced steel crate, and tranquilizers. And be sure they know what's in it at the destination, or you'll never find all the pieces of the guy who opens the box.

The little mentioned danger of Shroedingers Cat. When the box is opened, if the cat is alive he's ticked off. :)

Flippin' awesome photo, Josh!

As for the regs regarding mailing emus and assorted wildcats, I can look into it. But if you want to go the route many customers try, you can slap 'em in a box, tell us they're books, and try to send 'em for the super-discounted "media mail" rate. Just hope we don't decide to call your bluff and open the box to verify the contents are media. (Perfectly legal to do so.) Between CITES violations, USPS violations, various state and local violations, and a customer who's gonna get a bear of a postage due bill- your attorney is gonna be busy...
