Job Title: Watershed Development Coordinator Organization:
Appalachian Coal Country Watershed TeamLocations: 55 sites in 8 Appalachian states (PA, MD, OH, WV, VA, TN, KY, AL).

Description: Appalachian Coal Country Watershed Team (ACCWT) provides rural communities impoverished by environmental degradation and its consequences the help they to need make their home-place-watersheds healthier places to live and work. Must have a minimum of a bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience in Environmental Science, Appalachian Studies, Sustainable Development, or other related areas. Must be 18 years or older. Must be willing to live on a modest living stipend. Must be willing to live in a rural area of Appalachian Coal Country. Must have car (transportation costs of job are paid for).

Associate Organization: Appalachian Coal Country Watershed
Team Locations: 30 sites in 8 Appalachian Coal Country states (PA, MD, OH, WV, VA, TN, KY, AL).

Start Date: Several options beginning in May/June 2008
Duration: 8-10 Weeks. Hours: Full time
Benefits: Living allowance of $1560 for 8 weeks and an option for a $1000 education award* or a $200 cash
stipend to be paid upon completion of service.
The Appalachian Coal Country Watershed Team (ACCWT) is looking for Summer Associates to live and work in
low-income communities dealing with contaminated streams, depressed economies and other issues related to abandoned mine lands. ACCWT Summer Interns will spend 8 or more weeks working closely with local community watershed groups that have mobilized to alleviate these problems and make their home-place-watersheds healthier places to live and work. Learn how agencies and community groups make environmental change happen on the ground level.
