Hi All,

I know that the "Encyclopedia of Live Foods" by Charles Masters is supposed to be *the* reference on the standard live foods. It's also out of print. Is there any source to get it from that's more legit than others? I think someone here actually got permission to reproduce and distribute it a few years back? Is that still available?

You can buy a full photocopy for $26 from http://www.lfscultures.com/kits.html (bottom of page), but I'm not sure if he actually has permission to be reproducing it.

Thanks, Jase

if he doesn't have permission, its pretty ballsy to advertise it for sale....

I just e-mailed lfscultures to ask. I just wish there was a way to get some royalties on the sale to the original author (assuming he's still alive?). -Jase

Thanks, I actually decided to just bite the bullet and buy a copy used from Amazon (found via that link above) for $74 + shipping. Yeah, I could get a photocopy for $26, but I like the idea of a nice hardcover with all the images as intended, etc. There are still a couple more copies available there at $71 and $75 -- and then much more expensive.

I talked to them before over 10 years and they don't care. I do not believe they will republish it because it is too old to publish without updating it.

You can always watch Ebay for the book. Picked mine up about a year ago for 10 bucks. I may have to look into this copy from lfscultures tho.
