Diseases and Parasites

I have just recently completed my first collecting trip. Now that I've had a closer look at the fish, I am noticing some round white bumps on a few individuals (all mollies, a couple of bluefin killies; mostly on body, some on fins). Some look like worms or larvae just under skin, others have white external bumps. Nothing familiar to me from tropical fishkeeping. Is there a good reference for field ID of parasites (externally visible ones anyway) and general diseases of natives? I know this is a complex subject, but I am mostly interested in simple or general concepts. The next step being treatment, but you have to know what you're treating first. Thank you all in advance for your help.
